Welcome to RENEW, the Website of Christians Together in Leigh.

Renew came about following a prayerful desire to reach out to the community of Church Leigh, a rural village in the heart of Staffordshire. We are definitely 'off the beaten track' but God is full of surprises. Last year Renew happened for the first time and was very fruitful and well received. Building on that success Renew aims to bring the churches closer together and the people closer to God acting as a witness of hope and renewal to those who are seeking and are on a faith journey.

Theme for 2008: This year, taking advantage of the Hope 08 agenda, our theme has been Transformation: the transformation of people; the transformation of circumstances and the transformation of communities.

On Friday, Bishop Gordon Mursell spoke to us about Moses and how he was transformed by an encounter with God in his workplace; on Sunday morning Gordon Gatward spoke about the feeding of the 5000 and how God used an offering given in obedience to transform a situation supernaturally - in the context of a world food crisis. On Sunday Evening Rob Mountford talked about transforming communities by prayerfully identifying specific needs and specific gifts.

We also heard dramatic testimonies of personal transformation from Kesh Govan, Jean Lupton, Nicky Grey and Syd Little.

Alongside this were art and craft workshops and kids' clubs with the common theme of 'transformation' and some things that were just brilliant fun, among which The Gentlemen's awesome performance on Saturday night stands out.
